Renewable Resource Council (RRC) authorities to assist in management decisions related to fish, wildlife and their habitat, and forest resources, are outlined in Chapters 16 and 17 of the First Nation Final Agreements of their respective First Nation Traditional Territories. Additional RRC authorities stem from the Yukon First Nation Land Claims Settlement Act.
How are Council members appointed?
Renewable Resource Councils are comprised of 6-10 members, of which half are nominated by the respective First Nation, and half are nominated by the Government of Yukon. See individual RRC pages for the specifics of their council membership.
